It's difficult to imagine our world without electricity. However, in much of the western world, we have become short-sighted and, rather than explore the real possibility of using renewable resources to generate our electricity, we continue to make coal one of our main sources of power. Although we've been told there is such thing as "clean coal," this photo of a mountaintop removal proves that no matter how we burn it, coal is anything but clean.
