The past few days have been busy but fun. I had to drive to the Washington, DC area to help our daughter move home from school for the rest of the summer. We decided to make a fun weekend of it and so spent a couple of days exploring the sights. Among the things we did were visit the International Spy Museum, the National Portrait Gallery; hike at Great Falls; checked out Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria; and eat some yummy vegetarian/vegan food.
We brought back another farm intern, Ghadah "Jude" Al-Huwaider, a student from George Mason University majoring in global affairs and interested in sustainable living. Jude will be living with us and working on the farm for the month of August. We've been enjoying hearing her perspective on world and cultural issues and look forward to learning much from her over the next few weeks.
