Poem: Clearing
Clearing
by Martha Postlewaite
Do not try to save
the whole world
or do anything grandiose.
Instead, create
a clearing
in the dense forest
of your life
and wait there
patiently,
until the song
that is your life
falls into your own cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.
Only then will you know
how to give yourself
to this world
so worth of rescue.

Cherie, wow, such a poem for thought. It took many years of adult life for me to realize there was more to life than just living it. Finding the place where enjoyment was the goal and not just existing was a epiphany moment for me.
George Carlin's comedy bit on stuff is truly a classic. It's so funny because of the element of truth that all can identify with. I always enjoyed his comedy perspective on things. I do have way too much stuff but I refused to pay to store it away which I'm hoping will continue to inspire me to deal with reducing my amount of stuff.
Have a great finding your place in life day.
I totally agree with this...100%! We just need to let our ego get out of the way...
