I live on a sustainable family farm and work for a humanitarian aid organization. My goal is to have a simple beautiful life. The Quaker acronym SPICE (simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality) guides my life.
Since I'm already Catholic, my doggies and kitties are all waiting for me.
I've actually had the theological discussion with several priests and they have all said there is no reason to not believe our pets will be in heaven with us.
The fact is, dogs do have souls but their souls are not quite the same as human souls.
Deanna, Adrienne & La Vie - yes, I'm looking forward to seeing all my old friends (not too soon though!). I was a long-time Methodist and was glad to learn that John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, believed animals would be in heaven. Although I'm not Catholic, I do have a patron saint, St. Francis, lover of animals. I know it's no coincidence that I was born on St. Francis Day. :)
I don't know whether animals go to heaven or not. I do think that the person in charge of the sign at Beula Presb. Church needs to cut back on the caffeine and develop a sense of humor. Perhaps then membership would increase, as visitors wouldn't feel so lectured...

Not only will dogs be in heaven but cats better be there too...otherwise what's the sense of going. (-:

Me too. My dogs give me a little glimpse of heaven every day.
Great post!
St. Francis rocks!
Tish, I like how you put that! I suppose my animals do the same for me. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Adrienne, yes, I love St. Francis. He does indeed rock!
The local churches here have days for the blessing of animals!
I hope my dog and cat are in a good place too!
