The other day I was harvesting swiss chard from the garden and picking the pretty ones and was going to toss the "uglies" into the compost and my neighbor took it for his chickens instead - woo hoo!<br /><br />So glad also to have curbside composting here in PDX for the stuff that needs a hotter bin (bones from meat, shells from seafood, etc.) - I don't toss out much but those little things it's nice to see can be turned into compost by someone else :)EcoGrrlhttp://www.ecogrrl.netnoreply@blogger.com
